Jagat Jalanda Rakh Lai Apni Kirpa Dhaar
This was released as part of a project of creating healing shabads as a response to the pandemic. This particular one is is a beautiful prayer by Guru Amar Das in Raag Bilawal. I started on the composition a few years ago. And we did a live vocal and bansuri recording when Rajesh Prasanna was visiting California in 2018. Then I continued to refine the vocals and the music. Much thanks to my dear mother, Harvinder Kaur, for helping with the chorus.

Jagaṯ jalanḏā rakẖ lai āpṇī kirpā ḏẖār.
The world is going up in flames - shower it with Your Mercy, and save it!
Jiṯ ḏuārai ubrai ṯiṯai laihu ubār.
Save it, and deliver it, by whatever method it takes.
Saṯgur sukẖ vekẖāliā sacẖā sabaḏ bīcẖār.
The True Guru has shown the way to peace, contemplating the True Word of the Shabad.
